This beginner fly setup contains a full quality kit of rod, reel and line to get you started in fly fishing.

DAM G-FLY

Most likely one of the highest quality and best looking 4-piece fly rod series DAM ever made. In a modern green colour, and with an excellent quality cork handle. The G-Fly punches way above its weight in terms of value for money, and comes in at just a fraction of the price you’d expect to pay for a rod of similar performance and specification. Constructed from 30T carbon.

Shakespeare Sigma fly reel

Shakespeare Sigma fly reels have been developed using a lightweight reinforced graphite composite frame and spool. The Sigma has a fully adjustable smooth disc drag and is light and durable with plenty of room for backing.

Airflo Velocity Fly Lines

Perfect lines for those new to the sport or just getting back into it. With its user friendly taper design, the long rear taper allows the line to grow with you as you improve and increase your casting range. Velocity lines have many of the features found on our premium lines, available in Floating, Clear Intermediate, and Fast Sinking.

Choosing a Rod

The rods come in a range of sizes:

• 8ft 6″ 4#: Best suited to small rivers and streams
• 9ft 5#: General all purpose rod for small to medium rivers and light lake fishing
• 9 ft 6# Heavier rod suited to larger rivers and lakes and for areas containing bigger fish
• 9ft 7# Heavier rod suited to larger rivers and lakes and areas with seatrout, grilse runs
